Date: 6th June, 2023.
Objective: Clean the environment and plant trees, educate the community and mark the world Environmental Day.
Practice: We cleaned up around Lang’ata Ngong Road in Kibera slum and along the kibera river .We planted trees and sensitized the community members on proper disposal of waste as well as dangers that could arise from not taking care of the environment.
Success: A total of 76 volunteers turned up. We had a rigorous community cleanup where we approximately recovered about 4 tons of trash and successfully planted 350 trees along the Lang’ata- Ngong road in Kibera slums, Nairobi-Kenya.
21.Title of the Activity – Feeding Program In Kibera Slums
Date: 3rd July, 2023.
Objective: To provide cooked food, hope, emotional support and teach “My Body Is My Body Program”
Context: Children in Kibera slums hardly do they afford two meals a day. Most of the families in this area only eat ones a day..
Practice: We went at the heart of the slum with food, sanitary towels and stationery that people donated and also the foods we bought which we cooked and distributed for the children to eat. We also taught the children the “ My Body Is My Body Program”
Success: Through the feeding program in Kibera slums-Kenya, we taught the “My Body Is My Program”, Menstrual hygiene and academic mentorship. The kids shared what they want to be in future; Engine.
