What is the most expensive gift you can ever give to someone in life? An iPhone? Gold? A Mercedes Benz or a life? A Wiseman ones said, ”If you are not making someone’s else life better you are wasting your time because what you do for yourself will die with you! And what you do for someone else will never die.
Blood Donation
For every two seconds somebody needs blood, more than 38,000 blood donations are required every single day. A single car accident victim can require as many as 100 units of blood. More than one million people are diagnosed with cancer every single year who require blood during treatment. Are you over 17 years? Do you weigh more than 110 pounds? Do you consider yourself really healthy? If you answered YES to all these questions you should be donating blood every two months.
Every unit of blood you donate can save upto three lives, the blood you donate is divided into three ways; Red blood cells, White blood cell and Platelets. Each of these are stored separately and used for different types of treatment. The joy you get from helping three people can be increased many times over! You can donate blood six times in a year, these times can help as many as 18 people and if you donate for ten years you can help save a life of 180 people.
Can you give a single reason for not donating blood? If you cannot I can give you numerous benefits of donating blood. There is no substitute of blood donation because it saves lives. It doesn’t only benefit the one who receives it but also the donor as well; It helps in blood renewal, it prevents heart attack, it helps in weight loss, burns calories and most importantly it gives you a wonderful feeling of saving someone’s life. Imagine if you pledge to donate blood you will experience this wonderful feeling! And you will be a life saver!
