Monica Memorial Development Center (Home) Visit – Naivasha

Date: 24th July 2024
Objective: To provide donations, essential school items, and examination fees to the children, and to educate them through the “My Body is My Body” program.

Context: The Monica Memorial Home in Naivasha requested our visit for the second time, highlighting their ongoing challenges with food shortages, lack of stationery, and the need for academic support.

Practice: On 24th July 2024, our team visited the Monica Memorial Development Center in Naivasha, Kenya. We brought with us food supplies, stationery, toothpaste, clothes, dewormers, sanitary items, and examination fees. Additionally, we introduced the “My Body is My Body” (MBIMB) program to the children, providing them with crucial education on self-awareness, recognizing different types of abuse, and steps to protect themselves.

Success: Our visit to the Monica Memorial Children’s Home was a resounding success, marked by meaningful interactions and a profound impact on the children. We extend our deepest gratitude to our members, volunteers, partners, and well-wishers whose generous donations and unwavering support made this achievement possible.

During the visit, we successfully implemented the “My Body is My Body” program, empowering the children with the knowledge and confidence to protect themselves. The day was further brightened by a joyous cake-cutting celebration, filling the air with laughter and smiles.

We are particularly grateful to the Global Goodwill Ambassadors Foundation for their continuous support, the My Body is My Body Foundation for assisting with the printing of educational flyers, and the Ravine Foundation and Mama Gift Foundation for their generous contributions.

The event was a testament to the power of collective effort, and we look forward to continuing our mission of empowering and uplifting vulnerable children.
