Community Clean Up, Tree Planting and education on proper disposal of waste and recycling

Date: 5th June, 2024.
Objective: Community Clean up, Plant trees, learn more about proper disposal of waste and celebrate the World Environment Day.
Practice: We planted trees, learnt about proper disposal of waste and recycling and celebrated the World Environment Day 2024.
Success: In celebration of World Environment Day, the Darren Hart Foundation, in collaboration with Essenspark Limited and other partners, mobilized more than 250 volunteers to make a significant impact at Carson Academy in Mukuru kwa Njenga slum, Nairobi Kenya. Together, we cleared 3 tonnes of waste that was blocking trenches, leading to flooding in the area. Additionally, our dedicated team unclogged at least 2KM of sewer lines, restoring proper drainage and sanitation for the community.

Our efforts didn’t stop there. To further our commitment to environmental sustainability, we planted at least 250 trees, contributing to the greening and revitalization of the area. This event highlights the power of collective action and the difference we can make when we come together. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our volunteers, partners, and supporters for their invaluable contributions. Together, we are fostering a cleaner, greener future for all.
